The client brief for this property was to provide a farm style warm and open house which captures views to the surrounding mountains and lake, while still allowing for spaces sheltered from winds blasting across the lake to the North.

The house on the hill sits on a thermally broken slab and has superior insulation values. The predominantly Northern aspect seeks out and stores the heat of the sun in large concrete walls and floors which slowly release the heat of the day throughout the evening. The house also uses solar to heat water and provide power throughout the residence.
